It gives people the ability to participate in a synchronous exchange of thoughts with one or more people over a computer network. Approach: Currently, there is a lot of cheating during the chatting since the chatters do not know each other. However, it is very hard to determine how far is the cheating occurs during chatting. Results: We presented results of a case study based on a survey that investigate the relation between chatting and cheating. Survey results show that more than four in ten participant indicated that they give false information and act dishonestly while chatting. Conclusion: Survey results showed that chatting has more negative effects than positive effects. Other interesting results were included in the study.
